11/04/2011 Appointment of Ed Butler as Executive Chairman
 
Salamanca Risk Management is pleased to announce the appointment of Ed Butler as Executive Chairman with immediate effect.
 
Ed was formerly Chief Executive Officer of a boutique risk consultancy, having previously spent 24 years in the British Army, the majority of which was on active service with UK Special Forces, including command of 22 SAS at the time of 9/11. Ed achieved particular acclaim in 2006 as the first Commander of British Forces in Southern Afghanistan and retired in 2008 as one of the youngest and most respected Brigadiers of his generation.
 
Commenting on Ed's appointment, David Livingston, founder of Salamanca Risk Management, said:
 
"We are delighted that someone of Ed's calibre will be leading Salamanca.  The combination of his security and commercial experience make Ed ideally suited to head the business as we build on recent successes and look to develop the company significantly over the medium term."

Salamanca is currently assisting clients in Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, Saudi and Tunisia. We are providing several services including evacuation planning, emergency evacuations and crisis management. We are also currently supporting media teams on the ground in Libya.
