Counter Surveillance
Counter Surveillance is a service that we offer to clients who are involved in large public M&A transactions or may simply suspect that they are being targeted by the competition who want to gather information on their movements. Surveillance teams are also used in high profile divorces and we have provided similar counter surveillance services to ensure the husband/wife is not targeting their spouse in order to gather information that can be used in the divorce proceedings.
Case Study
Salamanca were asked to provide counter surveillance for a large supermarket chain that had become the target of a hostile takeover. The supermarket chain were seeking suitors to help them out of their predicament and were aware of the probability that there would be surveillance teams placed on their executive board in order to ascertain who they were talking to and who their advisors were. We placed a team on the Chairman, CEO and FD. On the second day we discovered that both the CEO and Chairman were under surveillance. As the FD was not being followed, the supermarket chain used him to negotiate with the organization that ultimately prevented the aggressive takeover.
